Generic Headphone Driver Components

As a starting point to a more complete demonstrative model, an illustration of the main components in the headphone driver is presented below.  Of particular interest are the acoustic pathways between the volume of air behind the diaphragm and the air behind the frame.  There are 13 holes in the frame that connect these 2 acoustic volumes and a single port in the centre of the motor system (called a bass port), that also communicates these volumes.

Acoustic Regions are formed from the gaps between physical components.  The video below shows the general model layout for the driver, assumed to be mounted into an infinite baffle radiating forwards and backwards and viewed in PAFEC's post-processor, PAFVU.
